2011 Meetings

6/15/11 LINCOLN PEAK VINEYARD
Gregor Clark, free lance writer and recurring author for Lonely Planet travel guides (www.lonelyplanet.com/members/gregorclark) led a discussion on his travels and career.  The tasting room at Lincoln Peak Vineyard (www.lincolnpeakvineyard.com) is an excellent venue.  We sat outside on the deck overlooking their pond, wine in hand enjoying the evening.

5/18/11 MISTER UPS
In May we networked outside on the deck at Mister Ups (www.misterupsvt.com) overlooking the Otter Creek.  It was a beautiful afternoon with good conversation all around the table.

4/12/11 HANNAFORD CAREER CENTER
Lynn Coale, Director/Superintendent/Adult Education Coordinator (www.hannafordcareercenter.org), conducted a discussion on his plan to improve the adult education offerings of the career center.  He sought ACYP's connections to the community to fill potential advisory board positions as well as deans and instructors.  A small group of YPs are continuing to work on developing an entrepreneurial institute for the Hannaford Career Center.

3/16/11 BIG MOOSE PUB AT FIRE AND ICE (www.fireandicerestaurant.com/moose.htm)
In March we gathered for an overview of the current real estate market which was led by Amey Ryan, ACYP member and realtor with IPJ Real Estate in Middlebury (www.middvermontrealestate.com).

2/9/2011 MIDDLEBURY MARKET / SAMA'S CAFE
In February we met at Sama's (http://samascafe.com/) primarily to socialize and discuss participation in BMP's Winter Carnival and Chili Festival (http://www.bettermiddleburypartnership.org/Default.aspx?pageId=547893). The discussion was led by ACYP member Lindsey Wing who is also a BMP board member.

1/12/2011 51 MAIN AT THE BRIDGE (www.go51main.com/)
Several of us weathered the storm to hear Bill McKibben (http://www.billmckibben.com/) an environmentalist and writer.  Bill spoke global issues related to climate change, a topic that he wrote the first ever book about at age 27.  He also shared how YPs can get involved through 350.org (http://www.350.org/).  It was a great opportunity to speak with a world renowned expert in his field.
